This is the entry level of the CGMA Professional Qualification and the starting point on your journey to becoming a chartered management accountant. The CIMA Operational Level concentrates on short-term decision-making and builds your abilities in using data and accounting technologies. It equips you to collaborate effectively and turn data insights into practical business actions.

E1 Managing Finance in a Digital World
Examines the key role of finance and the impact of emerging technologies on the finance function. Focuses on how to interpret and leverage machine-generated data to drive and sustain value, while also exploring the structure of the finance function and how it connects and collaborates across the organisation.
F1 Financial Reporting
Gain insight into regulatory bodies and compliance requirements. Learn how to produce fundamental financial statements in line with financial reporting standards, differentiate between various types of taxes, and calculate corporation tax while addressing key taxation issues. Also examines financial tools and techniques used to manage cash flow and ensure an organisation’s operational stability.
P1 Management Accounting
Explores the purpose and application of costing, including modern approaches such as digital costing methods. Covers the development and execution of budgets across an organisation, highlighting their influence on operations. Also examines tools and techniques used to support effective short-term decision-making in the face of risk and uncertainty.
Operational Level Case Study
Each level includes a Case Study Exam that brings together knowledge, skills, and techniques in a comprehensive, real-world scenario. In this exam, candidates take on the role of an entry-level finance professional and are required to demonstrate the competencies, practical abilities, and professional mindset expected in that position.
